Spotify Premium and YouTube Premium are two of the most popular subscriptions for music and video. They overlap in some ways, so here is how to choose.
What Spotify Premium gives you
- Ad-free music and podcasts
- Offline downloads on your phone and computer
- Unlimited skips and high-quality audio
- Playlists and recommendations that learn your taste
What YouTube Premium gives you
- Ad-free YouTube videos on every device
- Background play on mobile, so videos keep playing when you lock your screen
- Offline video downloads
- YouTube Music Premium included
Which one should you choose?
- Mostly music and podcasts? Spotify Premium is the better fit.
- You watch a lot of YouTube? YouTube Premium removes ads everywhere and includes music.
- Both? Many people keep both: Spotify for music, YouTube Premium for videos.
